Senior London Lib Dem says being London Mayor is 'not about policy'

Dizzy has found a YouTube post by Chamali Fernando, a wannabe Lib Dem candidate for the London Mayoralty. Astonishing, she says being London Mayor is 'not about policy'. At least she's being honest. Lib Dem don't lead public opinion, they follow it. All Chamali Fernando has done is confirm our view that they are a party of hypocrites, charlatans and opportunists.

Hi,
With this being my first comment I though I better be polite, considering I am a Lib Dem party member and to say hi.

Does this show you that some "Tories" are still the same?

And you'll see that, as soon as his disgraceful comments came to light, Conservative HQ expelled him.

Any politicians or any aspiring politicians should be careful before making any comments which are homophobic, racist or xenophobic in nature. I am certain we all condemn strongly language which are inflammatory or discriminatory.

The student which the anon referred should be aware that this member, as a matter of fact, was removed from the party's membership. Before making reference to articles, I recommend that you do some research, in order to prevent any embarrasment.

I am not homophobic myself(would be considered hypocritical in that sense)and I have read the actricle stating that he was expelled from CCHQ. However, he was still a memeber of Conservative party at that time and I am glad that CF took action agianst the person involed but it highlights the DC lack of efforts to move away from that atomosphere. It is a shame and shocking that this sort of behavoior should exist in todays socity.

You are probably a Labour apologist. So I suggest you request Labour politicians to stop violently assaulting innocent people, have you forgotten what Labour's John Presscot did? Let me remind you, he threw two blows with his fist against a protester? Why was he not expelled from the party?

What is even more bizarre is that Labour most prominent Muslim peer, Lord Nazir Ahmed of Rotherham, urged support for the Conservative Party during the last general election. The claim comes from Labour MP for Dewsbury, Shahid Malik, who has provided evidence to the Labour Party that Ahmed campaigned for his opponent, Sayeeda Warsi in 2005. Warsi is now the vice-chairman of the Conservative Party and a rising star of Cameron's new look A-list of black, Asian and women candidates hahahah.
