Priceless!

From today's Guardian:

Hats off, finally, to the ever-alert Lib Dems, who yesterday protested against post office closures outside the post office at 238 Essex Road, Islington, currently threatened with closure because it and 221 other fine properties across the borough have been put up for sale by Islington's Lib Dem-controlled council. Brilliant.

Brilliant indeed!

Interesting. Unlikely it reflects the reason of the closure though, given the scale of post office closures everywhere

Entertaining item but untrue. Essex Road has been named by Post Office Ltd as one of a number of Crown Offices across 13 boroughs whose future is uncertain as they consider more franchising options, as raiseed in HOC on Friday by Simon Hughes and Bob Neil (isn't he one of yours Justin?).

Hmmm, I'm guessing when you first posted this article, it didn't have the big correction across the top which it does have now (see your link).

Pointing out that it is not the Lib Dem sale of the lease that is threatening the Post Office, but the PO's business decision not to renew it...
