Did Norman give Sarah one too many?

From today's Guardian Diary:

"That nice Sarah Teather MP (Brent East, Lib Dem) fell down the escalators at Westminster tube one evening last week. Bruised, bleeding but thankfully not too badly hurt, she called for help - to her party's health spokesman, Norman Lamb MP, with whom, most fortuitously, she had been dining minutes earlier. Demonstrating a grasp of his portfolio few shadow spokesman could match, the gallant Norm, we hear, sprang expertly to her rescue. Fine work indeed!"

Hunter wonders if Mr. Lamb had been plying the little pumpkin with too much mint sauce?

Ooh! You are saucy, Mr. Hinchcliffe. With this recycled gossip you are spoiling us! Now pass the Ferrero Rocher!

The LibDem Ladies aren't having much luck at the moment: first Sarah Teather falls down an escalator, now I hear from Matt Davies that Lynne Featherstone is laid up with shingles. (Wrap Jenny Tonge in bubblewrap before anything happens to her....)

Norman is a good friend of mine and very careful with his alcohol. He rather dislikes the drinking culture in Parliament so I doubt he would have been overdoing it.

I'm prepared to extend basic good wishes to the North London Lib Dems, but not to Jenny 'Die Sturmer' Tonge. There are limits.
