Has Prescott been reading Nich's blog?

Yesterday, Nich Starling (a real liberal as opposed to the quasi-Socialist ones who make up the Lib Dems) posted a story on his blog about the way Saddam Hussein was treated by his Shia "enemies".

Today, John Prescott appears on the Today Programme to echo Nich's views. Is it possible that Prescott has been reading Norfolk Blogger, as Nich suggested? I think not, but I wouldn't be at all surprised if the government used taxpayers' cash to employ people to visit political blogs and websites and 'report' back to Labour officials.

A couple of observations:

1. The Deputy Prime Minister - a one John Prescott - voted for the Iraq war

2. Prescott said those responsible for the taunting and photographing of Saddam's execution (the guards loyal to Shia leader Moqtada al Sadr ) should be "ashamed of themselves" (Nich’s point from yesterday!)

3. His Cabinet colleague, Margaret Beckett, the Foreign Secretary, said "justice has been done" - despite the government’s official opposition to capital punishment

Just who speaks for the Government - John P or Margaret B? Hypocrisy stinks (see my previous post!)

Thanks to Nich for giving me something to write about. More here
